My name is Jean-François Moy and I currently work as a Software Developer for Orange Labs UK in London, United Kingdom. As you might have guessed from my name, I am from France where I graduated from the INSA de Lyon, after spending a year as an exchange student in McMaster University, Ontario, Canada.
I have always had a passion for mobile platforms and I have spent a huge amount of hours discovering and working on all the main platforms out there, from Google Android and Apple iOS to RIM Blackberry OS 6/7, Nokia Symbian or Windows Mobile 6.5. Recently, I have grown an interest for the Web, and started developing cross-platform web applications using all the new possibilities provided by HTML 5, CSS 3, and multiple Javascript libraries (jQuery, Mordernizr, Mustache, JSRender, iScroll, etc.). I have recently joined the W3C Device API Working Group as a representative member for France Telecom.
I am extremely curious about Operating Systems, always excited to test and tweak new releases of most desktop and mobile OS. I am very attached to the Open Source world, having developed Fraise, an Open Source text editor for Mac OS X. I also defend the idea of a free, open and accessible Internet for everyone.
When not in front of my computer, I read books (Terry Pratchett, Raymond E. Feist, George R. R. Martin, etc.), listen to electro and progressive music (but my tastes goes from Classical Music to Pop Rock), or watch a good movie/TV Show. I have a passion for motorbikes and my last one was a Triumph Daytona 675 that I unfortunately had to sell when I moved to London.
